WHAT WE DO

Community Relations

At Barka, our commitment to community runs deeper than business – it’s woven into the fabric of who we are. We genuinely cherish the communities we serve, recognizing that their prosperity and ours are fundamentally intertwined.

International Forest Day

The International Day of Forests is an annual holiday observed on 21 March to draw attention to the importance of forests and to encourage efforts to protect, restore and sustainably manage them. The day was established by the UN General Assembly in 2012. Forests play a key role in the ecology of the planet, supporting biodiversity, regulating the climate and providing livelihoods for millions of people. We celebrate this day in Cote d’Ivoire, along with millions of Ivoiriens.

2063 Foundation

The 2063 Foundation, established by Barka, embodies our commitment to Africa’s transformative vision as outlined in Agenda 2063. Named in recognition of the African Union’s blueprint for continental development, the Foundation channels resources and expertise toward building the Africa we want – one that is prosperous, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable.

Through targeted initiatives, the Foundation supports grassroots climate action, youth empowerment, and community-led environmental stewardship. We work at the intersection of environmental conservation and sustainable development, recognizing that Africa’s future prosperity is inextricably linked to the health of its ecosystems and the empowerment of its people.

By aligning our corporate social responsibility with Agenda 2063’s ambitious goals, we contribute to Africa’s journey toward becoming a global powerhouse while ensuring that growth benefits both people and planet.
