Program Manager – Barka Advisory

Barka is seeking a detail-oriented and passionate Program Manager to support our team in delivering high-quality advisory services in climate entrepreneurship and investment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of initiatives that empower businesses, accelerators, and investment funds to thrive in the sustainable and impact venture landscape.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Client Services & Engagement
  • Assist in gathering and analyzing client requirements to support the delivery of tailored advisory services
  • Prepare client deliverables, including reports, presentations, and strategic recommendation
  • Support client meetings and workshops by preparing materials and documenting outcomes
  • Maintain client relationships and support new business development
  • Assist in preparing materials for events, conferences, and other forums to enhance visibility and collaboration opportunities
• Project and Advisory Support
  • Assist in the planning and execution of advisory projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives
  • Collaborate with team members to support multiple projects concurrently
  • Maintain project documentation and assist in tracking project progress
  • Support the development of climate entrepreneurship strategies and sustainable business practices for clients
  • Assist in creating tools and frameworks to enhance the delivery of advisory services
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of advisory methodologies and best practices.
• Research and Analysis
  • Conduct research on climate entrepreneurship trends, sustainable business practices, and innovative solutions in the African context
  • Analyze market data, industry reports, and client information to support the development of advisory strategies
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on research findings and recommendations

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, International Development, Environmental Studies or a related field; Master’s degree is a preferred
• 1-3 years of experience in consulting, research, or analytical roles, preferably in the context of climate entrepreneurship and/or investing, sustainability, or related fields
• Strong ability to synthesize complex information into clear and concise reports
• Solid understanding of impact investing, sustainability regulations and trends, and climate change, biodiversity, and related best practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Ability to work collaboratively and take initiative in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
• Passion for environmental sustainability and African development
• Fluency in English required; proficiency in French is a plus
