BRIDGE THE FINANCIAL GAP
Startups have limited access to capital in Africa and in most developing countries. Access to finance exists for mostly larger businesses (from private equity firms and commercial banks) and for micro enterprises (from microfinance providers). Barka provides capital for "missing middle" companies and addresses a market largely underserved by impact investors in Africa.
SUPPLY CAPITAL LINKED TO READINESS
Our investment fund is looking to allocate its capital to businesses that have demonstrated a level of readiness through our program, ensuring that the capital is used effectively to achieve the desired impact.
PURSUE UNDERVALUED OPPORTUNITIES
We look for opportunities that have not received as much attention that they deserve and where significant impact can be achieved with limited initial capital.
